Hello members and friends of the Spring Valley-Lemon Grove Democratic Club!

Join us at 7:30 on Jan 9 at Lido's Restaurant in Lemon Grove! Our guest speaker will be Evan McLaughlin, Political and Legislative Director for the San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council, who will talk about the importance of the labor movement in LG, SV and East County.

The Health Committee of the Wellstone Democratic Renewal Club has been contacting clubs throughout California that have a representative on the State Senate Appropriations Committee who will consider SB 810 on January 17, 2012. They have asked us to endorse this bill which would provide single payer health insurance in California and we will be discussing this after Evan's McLaughlin's presentation. If you would like to participate in this discussion come to the January 9 meeting or reply via email. I will take your comments to the meeting. Our representative, Senator Christine Kehoe, is the chair of the Senate Appropriations committee so if you support single payer health insurance in California please contact her office to share your opinion prior to January 17.
